Two-Pizza Team

A two-pizza team is an Amazon concept for keeping teams small: no larger than can be fed by two pizzas, roughly six to ten people. The goal is autonomy and speed - a small, single-purpose team owns its mission end to end with minimal coordination overhead.

The idea is that communication cost grows faster than team size. Smaller teams make decisions faster, feel more ownership, and ship more.

Amazon later emphasized the leadership model over the headcount, pairing small teams with a single-threaded leader who owns one thing full-time.
